Is There Such A Thing As A “Fibromylagia Diet”?
Since the very nature of Fibromyalgia, with all it’s side effects of varying degrees is so diverse, it is very true that it is very difficult to find a universal diet that will help ALL sufferers. There is no one food that will put you on the road to speedy permanent recovery.
However, there are additions and subtractions that you can make in regard to your diet and taking this action can help you control your symptoms and it can also stave off a host of other major illnesses:
- Avoid processed foods! We all indulge from time and time and once in a while is okay, but eating a diet based around processed foods is dangerous. You leave yourself open to cancers, heart conditions and general all round ill health.
- Base your diet on low fat foods, nuts, fish and fruits and vegetables. I know from personal experience that limited mobility brings weight gain and with it more stress on joints, watching what you eat is a great all round cure for many ailments.
- Eat at least four small meals per day, spacing them out accordingly! Whatever you do, don’t skip breakfast!
- Drink water! What I do is fill a 2ltr bottle and drink that throughout the day until it’s finished!
- Lastly, keep a food diary! Knowing what causes your Fibromyalgia to flare up is a great start to beginning to eliminating certain foods from your diet.
Pretty much, as Fibromyalgia sufferers, we can find ourselves rattling around with pills and all kinds of invasive stuff! Finding a way to begin to manage your own Fibromyalgia is an empowering thing and what better way than by managing your diet!
